4. STOP THE KILLING OF CYCLISTS

Invest £15 billion in a National Segregated Cycle Network over the next 5 years.

In the UK provision for cycling is far worse than in other European countries, with fewer people cycling and those that do at greater risk of death or serious injury. In 2012 118 cyclists were killed, including 13 children with over three thousand people seriously injured while cycling [1].

We need to double the Netherlands per person investment in cycling infrastructure so we can catch up on 40 years of UK failure including. A comprehensive network of protected lanes suitable for people of all abilities needs to be created and all new developments and transport infrastructure should include space-for-cycling.
